1996 Aston Martin V8 Coupe
1996 Aston Martin V8 Coupe, finished in Buckinghamshire Green with light tan leather interior piped in Green with Burr Walnut Veneers. Equipped with automatic transmission with sport mode and the optional sports exhaust. Of the limited production run of 101 cars, less than 70 left the factory as right-hand drive examples. They have more than adequate power and are a comfortable yet sporting Grand Tourer at considerably less cost than the 550 Vantage. Some say that they give an easier and less stressful driving experience than their big brother.
The car that we are fortunate enough to offer here is an exceptionally nice example of the marque and was supplied when new by Portfield Sports and Classic who were the officially appointed Aston Martin agents for West Sussex at the time of production.
Servicing for the first 2 years was carried out by the supplying dealer to 8,611 miles when the car changed hands and the new owner opted to have it looked after by “Works Service” in Newport Pagnell, up to 18,659 miles in 2001. Regular servicing then continued with HMW and Harwoods through to 2012 at 44,416 miles when we believe that there was another change of ownership and a probable period of storage. The next 2 recorded services are in 2016 at 44,462 miles and in 2017 at 45,018 miles by well-respected Aston specialists “Davron” in Wiltshire.
In 2021 the car was acquired by the current owner who commissioned Stratton Motor Company in Norfolk to carry out restorative works, a process that lasted through until September 2023. No stone was left unturned and Stratton carried out extensive works to a very high standard, all of which is recorded in the very detailed chronologically kept history file that accompanies the car. The invoices for this work total in excess of £50,000 and can be seen along with numerous pictures of the process. Since the restoration Trinity Engineering have carried out what is described as minor works.
The specification includes climate control, 4 way adjustable heated electric seats, cruise control, climate control, Alpine Hifi system, electric mirrors, front and rear fog lamps, 6 spoke 18” alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero speed rated tyres and a mesh front grille.
During the past 30 years, we have been fortunate enough to have a number of these V8 Coupe’s through our hands, and this car stands out as a particularly nice example. Compared with similar cars currently on the market, our car can be seen as being excellent value and is likely to prove to be a good investment as well as being a very enjoyable car for those long continental excursions. Likely to sell quickly at only £57,500
