1965 Jaguar E Type 4.2 Roadster

First registered on the 17th of November 1965 this truly exceptional Series One, Jaguar E type 4.2 roadster was purchased by the present owner in 2013 when it was in need of some refurbishment. We are awaiting the full details of who carried out what turned out to be a complete restoration, but as can be seen from the limited number of pictures that have so far arrived, the restoration has been carried out to the highest standard. Finished in one of the most desirable colour schemes of Opalescent Silver blue with dark blue hide and a dark blue mohair hood, the car has formed part of a small eclectic collection of bucket list motor cars including an Aston Martin Zagato Shooting BrakeI and previously a very successful Aston Martin DB4 Lightweight race car. As can be seen from the chassis number, the car was originally exported to the USA where it remained until 2012 when it was repatriated to this country by "E-type UK".  During the restoration it has had the following upgrades including 5 speed gearbox, uprated cooling fan, 123 ignition, gas shock absorbers and uprated front brake calibers. In order to improve the already excellent road-holding the suspension was all re-bushed using Poly-bushes and an uprated front anti roll bar for improved cornering. More recently in 2019, the engine was rebuilt by Tom Barclay Racing who has years of experience with Jaguar cars, all learned for his father Marcus Barclay.      The car has been used and enjoyed since the restoration and around 20,000 miles have been notched up by the present owner. If you are looking for one of the very best 4.2 Roadsters currently available, the car will be with us after the7th of July when I believe the first to see and drive this lovely example will become the new owner. Not expensive for one in this condition at £115,000
