1957 Aston Martin DB MkIII

1957 Aston Martin DB MkIII finished in Chiltern Green with black hide interior with green Wilton carpet throughout.  On The instruction of the owner and against our better judgement, we have just reduced the price of this Lovely Old War Horse from £155,000 to £139,950. It has always been an attractive project even before this reduction so it should now prove to be irresistable. It has just emerged from over 50 years with the same owner, now in his late 70’s and is still being enjoyed by him for pleasant outings on sunny mornings around the Berkshire lanes. Recently I had the pleasure of a test drive on just such a morning, and I am still grinning from the experience. Once she is warmed up, everything is working smoothly including the Overdrive and with a reassuringly decent oil pressure, the temptation to drive it quickly became too much to resist. For a hand-built, totally original, Aston Martin, now almost 65 years old, 80 mph was easily achieved in overdrive top with plenty more to come. The car is accompanied by one of the best kept history files we have seen, detailing regular mechanical maintenance including rebuilds of engine, gearbox, overdrive unit and brakes and the car also has the advantage of a new Alperform aluminium cylinder head fitted in 2004 but only 12,000 miles ago. Before I get carried away with all the good bits, hopefully the knowledgeable amongst you will gather from the low asking price that although we have here, a very useable classic Aston Martin, she could now do with an enthusiastic new owner to restore her to her former glory. Such a project could be done over a period of time and the end result would be "A Car for Life" with a history file dating back to Day One when it was supplied by HWM. Recently featured in a new book by Matthew Vale devoted to the Aston brand. Now silly cheap at just £139,950
