Description

1965 Jaguar E Type 4.2 Roadster

1965 JAGUAR 4.2 E TYPE ROADSTER in “BETTER THAN NEW CONDITION”

Finished with Opalescent dark blue with full Burgundy hide interior and complimented with a perfect dark blue mohair soft top and a matching Tonneau. Subjected to a full Rotisserie, body-off restoration a few years ago and has since been owned by the enthusiastic chairman of a major component supplier. During his ownership it has been even further improved from a mechanical standpoint and has proved to be utterly reliable on various long-distance excursions including a recent 5000-mile tour through France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Luxemburg, and Monaco. The various mechanical upgrades for more comfortable use on today’s roads have included a 5-speed manual gearbox with a top gear suited for high-speed motorway cruising, fully adjustable power assisted steering, larger front brake callipers and adjustable Koni shock absorbers giving greatly improved road holding. Other improvements have included Wider Lattice spoked chrome wire wheels with 185 VR rated tyres, a modern stero system with Blue Tooth connectivity, Hazard warning lights, descreatly hidden inertial reels for the seat belts, a Tracker system, Full LED lighting, electronic ignition, and an alternator. When launched in 1961, Enzo Ferrari is renowned to have remarked that it was “The most beautiful car ever built”. Over my 45 years in the classic car business, this exceptional E type is without any doubt the best I have ever driven. I would therefore urge any prospective buyer to come and view and drive this car so that you can fully appreciate the craftmanship that has gone into its creation. Not the cheapest E type on the market at £165,000 but probably the Best.
